ARTWORK

This page gathers together various bits
of artwork that have been used by kosmonaut
on their promos, demos and commercial
releases. We thought that somebody might
be interested in seeing them.

FIRST DEMO CD-R

This was the cover of the bands first demo
cd-r it was used to send around to labels
all over the world to try and create some
interest. No one can remember who those
labels were, they must not have liked what
they heard because they never got back in
touch! A copy was posted over to Japan and
that was how was it you? became the bands
first release on Motorway. It came in two
flavours lime (above) and orangey.(below)

SECOND DEMO CD-R

The use of the telephone, glass and
television images were employed again,
mainly because the band didn't want to
frighten away prospective labels with
photographs of themselves adorning the
sleeves. This cd-r created a few little stirs ,
some interest was shown by Ferric Mordant,
Dishy and Artists Against Success .Alas
nothing was to come of them.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES 7" SINGLE

The sleeve above is the original version of
the bands debut single on Firestation Tower
Records. Stephen thought that he looked
alright on this one but Geoff wasn't so keen
on his image he much preferred the one
where he appears to be picking his nose on
the sleeve that got used! See the evidence
below. Is he or isn't he?

FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE 7 SONGS
BY KOSMONAUT CD-R

Not wanting to take things for granted with
FST they decided to send their two newest
songs listen to the radio and never
fadeaway
to a couple more labels to see if
they sparked any interest. The said labels
were both in the USA - Matinee and Sunday.
Both labels liked what they heard but in
the meantime FST had been back in touch
with an offer of a mini album. How could
they refuse? This kind of messed things up
with both Matinee and Sunday. Not wishing
to upset anyone they agreed to record songs
for everyone. Sunday must be the most patient
as they have said they don't mind waiting
until there is time to record something for
them.

IN MY HEAD CD-R

This cd-r was released on the bands own
Porterfield 73 record label. No label in
their right mind is going to touch a song
that samples from the film taxi driver
and not expect a little bit of trouble. If you
join the bands mailing list you can get
a numbered cd-r of the disc. If you just
want to hear what all the fuss is about go
to the sounds page and download an MP3 of it.
